Why start with photos
Most homeowners calling about rejuvenation are really asking one question: is this roof still savable, or am I looking at a replacement? Photos will not settle that with certainty — nobody can grade shingle flexibility from a picture — but they do sort the obvious cases quickly. A roof with granule loss and drying asphalt reads very differently from one with lifted shingles, exposed mat or a sagging line in the deck.
That is what this tool is for. It reads what is visible, weighs it against the conditions rejuvenation actually addresses, and tells you which of the three paths your roof is probably on: rejuvenation, repair first, or replacement. When the photos are not good enough to say, it says that too rather than guessing.
What it will never do

Taking photos safely
Stay on the ground. A phone camera from the driveway, the yard, or an upstairs window gives more than enough to work with, and a bedroom window shot of an adjacent slope is often the most useful image of all. If a slope is not visible from anywhere safe, describe it in the notes instead — the free on-site assessment covers the parts you cannot see.
Is the photo check the same as a roof inspection?
No. It reads the photos you upload and the description you write, then explains in plain language what your shingles appear to be doing. Only an on-site assessment, where a technician handles the shingles and checks the decking and flashing, can confirm whether rejuvenation is appropriate.
What photos should I take?
A wide shot of a full slope, a closer shot of the shingle surface, and — if you can do it safely from the ground — anything that worries you, like a bare patch or lifted shingles. Daylight helps. Never climb onto a roof to get a photo.
Does the photo check tell me a price?
No. It never quotes. If you want planning figures, use the rejuvenation cost page or the replacement cost calculator, both of which show ranges rather than quotes.
What happens to my photos?
